Puppies need a lot of energy to fuel their growth. However, a German Shepherd pup will need more food than a Shih Tzu. But even within breeds, the right amount of food for one puppy may be too much or too little for another.
The best way to determine how much to feed your puppy is to start by following the feeding recommendations on their puppy food. Keep in mind that the amount to feed your puppy depends on their age, size, and activity level.
Feeding guidelines, which list the daily recommended portion, are included on all of our packages. Start feeding with this amount and adjust according to your pet's needs. Remember to divide the portion accordingly if you feed more than once a day.
When it comes to how often to feed your puppy, for puppies up to 6 months, feed suggested daily amount in 3-4 meals per day. For puppies 6 months to adult, feed in 2-3 meals per day.
Monitor your puppy’s condition and talk to your veterinarian, then make changes as needed.
