There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to this question. Your dog’s nutritional needs depend on their age, size, and activity level.
To determine the right serving size for your dog, always refer to the feeding guidelines provided on the packaging of NUTRO™ dog food. These guidelines are based on your dog’s weight and can be adjusted depending on their needs.
For example, if you’re feeding your dog our Natural Choice Lamb & Brown Rice Recipe kibble, you’ll start with the following amounts daily (in cups):
- 15 pounds: 1 ¼ - 1 ⅓
- 25 pounds: 1 ¾ - 2
- 35 pounds: 2 ⅓ - 2 ⅔
- 45 pounds: 2 ¾ - 3 ¼
- 55 pounds: 3 ¼ - 3 ¾
- 65 pounds: 3 ⅔ - 4 ¼
And if you’re only feeding your dog wet food, such as our Chicken Entree Pate with Tomatoes & Carrots, they’ll need approximately 2 ½ trays daily per 10 pounds body weight. So, you’d feed a 30-pound dog about 7 ½ trays a day.
Regardless of their diet, monitor your dog’s condition and weight. If they start gaining too much, decrease the amount slightly. If they lose too much weight or appear hungry, increase it a little.
