Our 12+ y/o Boston has been doing great on Small Breed Senior. The olny problem has been that the local supplier doesn't carry it, and has reported difficulty getting it when I order it.

I will admit I was seduced by a cheaper brand. After doing the slow change over, everything seemed fine at first. My two doxies (10 years old) had never had anything but Nutro, and took to the "new food" fine. The problem came a few weeks later. Both of my ladies got constant horrible gas. Their coats shed uncontrollably and turned dull and wirey. They both started scratching and chewing. It all let up to waking one morning and seeing one of my girls face swollen huge. After rushing to the vet at 6:30 in the morning, while waiting for the blood tests to come back, he explained to me that dogs don't have allergic reactions to food and medicines like humans had. It had to be something else. All the bloodwork and tests came back normal. She'd had a reaction to the "new food". I went back to Nutro, and both my girls are back to their amazing selves. Coats are back to beautiful, no more itching and scratching, no more gas, and they are healthy and happy. I will NEVER let this happen again!!! Thanks Nutro for having a great American product!!
