This dog’s ancestors spent plenty of time with royalty, so he maintains an air of importance and appreciates respect. The Pekingese has a beautiful coat that should be groomed frequently, or his hair should be kept short to avoid matting.
Pekingese are extremely smart, independent and stubborn. They try to take charge in most situations and don’t like to be harshly scorned. While this small dog is great if you’re looking for a watchdog, they also get along great with children and other animals.
