The Dachshund is cute, full of life and a great family dog. Their long bodies and short legs lend them a unique look that’s developed quite a following over the years (including cartoonists). The Daschund’s need for independence combined with their rare shape enables them to get through irregular openings – so keep an eye on your Dachshund, even in a fenced yard.
Dachshunds loves to play with their owners but don’t understand that birds, cats and other small animals don’t always want in on the action. The Dachshund’s deep bark makes it sound like a much larger dog than it really is.
