If you’re looking for a fun-loving, active and inquisitive dog that’s great around kids and adults, Beagles are the perfect breed for you. You’ll probably be able to pick Beagles out from a crowd simply by listening for their distinctive howls.
One important thing to note is that Beagles are scent hounds, meaning their noses lead the way and their heads are typically down searching for an interesting smell. In fact, in I984, the U.S. Department of Agriculture put Beagles to work at the Los Angeles International Airport to help sniff out contraband food being brought into the United States.
