by TitansMom We will buy no other food! When we first adopted our dog he was overweight, basically hairless, had skin issues, and all other foods gave him diarrhea. We tried several foods before this one and none got rid of his "runs". He loved this food, it was the only food he would eat besides his raw diet that was making him fat from the rescue. He loves his food, and so do all his doggie friends that come over. He constantly gets compliments on how healthy his coat is, his dandruff is gone, and his hair is even thick all over now! We only feed him nutro sensitive skin and stomach.

by Lilimarie Miracle food! One of my rat Terriers has sensitive skin as well as a sensitive stomach. I tried many grain free and limited ingredients dog foods but nothing seemed to help clear his skin up. This product took away his skin issues right away, I'm so pleased!

Rated 3 out of 5 by D Was great until they changed the formula Was feeding my husky lab and my blue heeler this for a couple years and both of them loved it. My blue heeler is a very picky easter and was happy after a very long expensive search trying to find a dog food they both liked while also helping my husky skin issues.. Until they changed the formula. . Now my heeler won't even touch it unless I put something else like gravy in it. Which I prefer not to do but she is getting skinny. Way to mess up a good product. Thanks the search starts again i guess June 19, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lovemylab Was great until changed formulation Our choc lab has suffered from stomach and skin issues since a puppy. We tried different foods mostly to address the stomach issues and found she tolerated the original sensitive stomach chicken and oatmeal very well. By pure luck, her skin issues, that had caused her to suffer terribly, completely disappeared. And she loved it. We continued for several years to buy it til one day we opened a new bag and her skin conditions returned with vengence. Frustrated by manufacterers that always have to "improve" their products, we went on the search again for a new brand. After trying several other products, we determined that she was troubled by chicken. We came back to the Nutro brand and tried the previous version of the Venison food and, yea!, the skin allergy symptoms disappeared, and her stomach was still in good shape. We had been on that food for about a year and then, one day, opened a new bag and now we have the skin issues again. After reading comments here, I realize that there have been changes to the formulation. I just wonder why manufacterers have to keeping tweaking their products despite the fact that they have thousands of positive reviews. I guess we will be on the hunt again. Sigh :( May 23, 2015

by Kerri Dogs are finally doing/feeling great! The product its self is wonderful. We have a Staffie that has bad stomach problems and it has taken us a while to find something she can handle! She is feeling good and her skin and coat looks great! We have switched our other Staffie to it, he is doing great as well! The only issue we have is that you keep changing the packaging. Makes it pretty difficult when trying to just run in and grab a bag of food and you find that it has been changed, again. You have a great product, stop messing with the bags, we don't care what's on the outside but we do want to be able to find it quickly and easily without fuss!

Rated 1 out of 5 by harley5150quinn Not working for our dog after change We carefully compared the ingredients between this and the previous version that specifically said it was for dogs with digestive issues and they were similar, but not the same. We decided to give it a try and two days later our poor chihuahua is throwing up all over the place. We now have to find another brand that she can keep down as well as the 'old Nutro formula'. The kibbles are slightly larger too, that won't be a problem for most, but for a dog with tiny teeth and a tiny mouth, it matters. Loved this brand for a lot of years, but it's no longer working for our dogs. May 13, 2015

by RubyMamz Dog Loves It! After a change in formula from our previous dog food brand, and mostly what seemed to be a distaste for salmon flavored food on the part of my dog, my Vet reccomended we try Venison as a protein. We have been on it for three days now: introducing it gradually. My dog actually picks around her old dog food and just eats this one! She absolutly seems to love it so far. Due to a sensitive tummy and poultry allergy, we are kind of limited on what she can eat. Salmon seemed to be the only thing that didn't bother her, so she had to just stick it out and suffer through. Now she doesn't have to! I am very impressed with the ingredients. Nutro has wonderful reviews (both online and as well as in the academic community....yes I looked up journal articles) and is NEVER outsourced!!! (Unlike that other big name "all natural" brand of dog food we all know about. Here's hoping for many happy years to come with this food!

Rated 5 out of 5 by petparentof7 New Packaging My dogs have done very well on this food for several years, after issues with itchy skin and diarrhea. My one issue is that the new packaging does not state on the package "sensitive skin and stomach", as before. I had to ask for help from a store employee to determine whether this was the same food I had been buying. I was assured that it was the same food, and told that Nutro had been "bought out" by Mars, and changed the packaging as of the buy out. You might want to consider adding that language to the new packaging.Customer in Oregon April 9, 2015
