Feeding Guidelines

Note: These are the recommended feeding ranges for puppies. These guidelines should be adjusted as needed to obtain optimum weight.

Puppies: From 3 to 5 weeks of age, moisten food and feed frequently. From 6 weeks of age, feed the suggested amount in three meals per day until 6 months of age, then twice daily.

Pregnant/Lactating Bitches: During pregnancy, offer 50% more and during lactation offer at least two to three times more than the amount shown for puppies over 12 months of age. Keep fresh drinking water available at all times, provide plenty of exercise and see your veterinarian regularly. Serve dry or lightly moistened. To help maintain freshness, we recommend sealing the bag tightly and storing it in a cool, dry location

Product Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 115reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nutro Max Dog Food This is more of my dog reviewing, than i. My dog although, seems to love the food. He chows down on it when he gets fed, and has no issue keeping it down. ( some dog foods don't sit well with him) and I love how healthy it is for him, since he puts a couple of bowls down a day. I will probably be switching my current dog food to this since he likes it so much more than what we had before( a different grain free dog food). But it seems he prefers the taste of this one much more. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who gets a puppy, or is thinking of switching to a healthy dog food. April 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by very recommend I love this brand after starting my puppy on it her tummy issues have really Gone away. She doesn't leave anything in her bowl I think it works good for puppies. The pieces are the perfect size.My only issue is that it smells really bad. April 7, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by My dog loves the flavor. I think NUTRO™ MAX™ Large Breed Puppy Food for the most part is a really good dog food. I transitioned my large puppy from her dog food to this formula and did not have any problems like diarrhea which can sometimes occur. If you placed both dog food formulas in front of her she would choose the max brand because she prefers the flavor of it over her typical dog food. The only concern I have is that her stools seemed to be firmer, and less frequent than normal. April 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by What I think I think this product is great !! I love the ingredients in it. And my puppy loves it also. It messed up her tummy at first but she adjusted to it very well. I would recommend this product to all my family and friends. I give it 2 thumbs up. April 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our pup loved this stuff This was our first experience with Nutro food. We have a Dutch Shepard puppy who is very accustomed to high end dog food. He loved this stuff and we did too. The size and texture are great, just big enough for those larger breed puppies. His coat is beautiful and he just continues to grow and learn everyday. We will definitely be using Nutro Max for our not so little guy in the future. April 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nutro Max Review This is a great product. The dogs really enjoy feeding time and love the taste of Nutro Max dog food. They seem to be more excited when it comes to feeding time.I have also noticed the change for the best in their digestion. Less tummy issues. Their energy level has also improved. With that being said I started feeding it to my older dog thinking it would be more gentle on her tummy as well. After about a week she, started perking up she looked more healthier and became more active. April 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by An Easy Switch I have dogs that are very picky about their food, so I was a little leery that they would take to a new food. The first day, they did eat around it, however, the second day, they must have accidentally eaten some with their usual, because they started eating the new food. I continued to mix until the other food bag was empty - about a week - and they ate both types of food. The bowl was empty each evening. I have one dog that occasionally has stomach issues if we switch food, but "knock on wood", no issues so far.The food does not stink like some of the other foods my dogs have eaten. It looks pretty natural - no odd colors - just plain old brownish color.Overall, I found this to be a success. Now I need to see where I can find it. I have not seen it locally yet. April 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nutro Max - P Sonnentag We have been feeding Nutro Max to our pup, Oreo, for about 2 weeks now. With the good nutrition in Nutro Max he continues to grow well while consuming less food. This has the added advantage of having less dog waste to deal with. Oreo is a growing pup weighing 49 pounds at 7 month of age. We will continue to feed with Nutro Max if we can find it in the stores. April 1, 2016
